Education Professors Receive Funding From Faculty Research Project Development Initiative

Congratulations to Angélica Galván, Hongshan Shao, Minsung Kwon, and Zhen Chai, who have been chosen to receive funding through the Faculty Research Project Development Initiative for their projects.

This was an exceptionally competitive cycle, with 118 applications submitted from across the university. Their proposals stood out for their strong alignment with FRPDI goals, clear scholarly contribution, and potential to advance CSUN’s teacher-scholar model.

Dr. Hongshan Shao – “Listening to their voices: perspectives from underrepresented faculty members on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)”

Dr. Minsung Kwon – “Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Driven Simulation Platform to Rehearse Core Teaching Practices in a Practice-Based Teacher Education Program”

Zhen Chai – “Project CREATE: Preparing Culturally Responsive Early Educators in Teacher Education”
