FFRC in the News: Empowering Families and Building Community
We are thrilled to share some wonderful recent recognition that highlights the heart of what we do here at the Family Focus Resource Center! The incredible work of our team in supporting and empowering families has been featured in both the AV Press and L.A. Parent Magazine.
These articles shine a light on our ongoing efforts to ensure no family has to navigate the disability journey alone.
In a recent L.A. Parent Magazine feature, “The CSUN Family Focus Resource Center Gives Families a Place to Start,” our Director of Operations, Diana Chulak, sat down to discuss the vital role FFRC plays in the community. The interview covers our core philosophy—that “Your Best Resource is Another Parent”—and highlights our free services, including our 1-on-1 Community Navigator program, ongoing support groups, and the highly anticipated 13th Annual All Abilities Resource Fair coming up on November 7th at CSUN.
“As a nonprofit Family Empowerment Center, our mission is to ensure that no family has to navigate the disability journey alone” – Diana Chulak, FFRC Director of Operations
Additionally, the AV Press recently highlighted our outreach with their article, “Special education fair aims to empower families,” showcasing how our resource fairs directly connect parents, caregivers, and self-advocates with the organizations and tools that best meet their unique needs.
We are so grateful for this recognition, which reflects the dedication of our entire team across all our locations every single day. It’s an honor to be a trusted starting point for so many families.
Please take a moment to read the articles at the links above. If you can, share them with your networks and community so we can continue connecting families to the resources they need!
Thank you to our community for helping make FFRC such a valuable resource for the families we serve.
