Summer Academic Program for Elementary School Students (SAPESS) 2026

The SAPESS program was a great success and received positive feedback from both kids and parents. Our program this year not only provided a high-quality learning experience by leveraging CSUN resources, including our collaboration with ATEC, but also created a unique professional opportunity for our teaching assistants and teachers, who are trained through our teacher education program. In particular, our teaching assistants, most of whom had just completed their first semester of student teaching, were highly supportive and shared that the program was a rewarding and meaningful experience for them. Their dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm contributed greatly to creating a positive and enriching learning environment for our students. We believe SAPESS highlights the strength of our teacher education program by demonstrating how our candidates are well prepared to support young learners while continuing to grow as future educators.
