Excellence Recognized: Faculty Making National Impact

Faculty at the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics are advancing the college’s impact through scholarship, teaching and service–organizing national conferences, publishing in top academic journals and earning prestigious awards and long-service honors.

This year, faculty received numerous accolades at the national level as well as recognition at the university level. Here are a few highlights:

  • Farshad Ghodoosi, assistant professor of business law, received the 2025 Early Career Achievement Award from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business—ALSB’s most significant national recognition for early-career faculty.
  • Michael Doron, professor of accountancy, received the Roberts Memorial Research Award from the Academy of Accounting Historians, which recognizes work that increases the scope of accounting history.
  • Dong Liu and Ning Fu received the 2024 Lalita A. Manrai Best Paper Award from the Journal of Global Marketing, an annual honor recognizing exceptional research in global marketing.
  • Kristen Walker, professor of marketing, was the 2025 Keynote speaker at the Kellstadt Lecture at Marquette University.
  • Rafi Efrat was honored with the Distinguished Career Award for Excellence in Student Engagement and Community Impact, underscoring his long-standing commitment to mentoring students.
  • Qin Sun, associate professor of marketing, organized the 2025 Marketing Educators’ Association Annual Conference.
  • Faculty collectively published their work in 30 impact journals, including the Journal of Marketing Analytics, the Journal of Business Research and the International Review of Economic and Finance.
