Publicis Groupe Expands Marketing Opportunities for CSUN Students
Nazarian College’s marketing department recently gained renewed access to the Association of National Advertisers resources through a university membership donated by Publicis Groupe, one of the world’s leading communications and marketing organizations.
The membership provides CSUN faculty, staff and students with access to a range of industry resources, including marketing research, professional development programs, case studies and events.
The gift was made possible through the ANA Educational Foundation’s “Give the Gift of ANA University Membership” program. More than 110 universities and colleges participate in the program.
First introduced to CSUN through alumnus Bill Imada, founder of IW Group, the program allows companies to provide universities with access to ANA resources. This year, Publicis Groupe selected CSUN as a recipient of the gift.
Deborah Heisley, professor of marketing and marketing department chair, says the partnership provides real value to CSUN.
“Publicis represents the full contemporary marketing value chain—from brand strategy and creative to marketing technology, AI, analytics, shopper marketing, the creator economy and more,” she says. “The breadth is the point. Through this partnership, students will have a broader understanding of the modern marketing landscape and how it’s evolving.”
For marketing professor Mariam Beruchashvili, the value of the ANA membership is reflected in her teaching as she uses its advertising-specific resources in her classes.
“ANA hosts an amazing online advertising case library,” says Beruchashvili. “This is a resource for students and professors alike where thousands of advertising and marketing campaign histories are stored, analyzed by experts, and converted into teachable case studies that cover a range of industry-specific case studies.”
Beruchashvili also highlighted a valuable benefit for students, noting that about 500 of her former students have completed Certified ANA Marketing Student professional certification, which carries significant recognition in the advertising industry.
“Memberships in organizations like ANA, AEF and AAF create important bridges between academia and industry,” says Heisley. “Together, these opportunities connect our students, faculty and curriculum with the marketing profession, helping prepare students for successful careers in a competitive field.”
