Bull Ring Finalist Spotlight: ChronoFlow Streamlining Productivity with Smart Automation
Meet ChronoFlow—a student team developing an AI-powered project management platform designed to revolutionize how organizations handle repetitive administrative tasks. The team consists of computer science majors Timothy Tracy, Ashot Gharibyan, Robert Paronyan and Karen Shirvanyan, a double major in finance and computer science. Designed with automation, efficiency and real-time collaboration in mind, ChronoFlow offers a smarter way for teams to streamline workflows and reduce operational friction.
“ChronoFlow is a unique new product in the task management space that fundamentally transforms how work moves through an organization,” Timothy Tracy says. “By automating repetitive routines and procedures, we make it easier for teams to stay productive and collaborate more effectively.”
Although the product is still under development—about 80% complete—the team is focused on building out the final features to prepare for a soft launch within the next month. The team’s immediate goal is to pilot the platform with real users to collect feedback and optimize performance. However, external testing at scale requires resources. “Internally, we’ve tested the platform, but to truly validate it, we need to deploy it to a larger group, ” says Karen Shirvanyan. “The funding from Bull Ring would allow us to cover essential server costs and support a cohort of beta users.”
One of the most interesting aspects of ChronoFlow is its origin story: the project was sparked by a challenge presented by Dr. Jeffrey Wiegley, faculty president of CSUN’s Computer Science Department. The team has since worked closely with Dr. Wiegley to tailor ChronoFlow to CSUN’s administrative needs, making the university a natural first testing ground.
“We’re essentially co-building this with a key campus leader who saw a real pain point in current systems,” Ashot Gharibyan says. “Once finalized, we have strong support to pilot ChronoFlow within a CSUN department to evaluate its impact.”
By partnering with campus leadership, the students hope to integrate the tool into CSUN workflows. One example of its application is in streamlining the often tedious “time conflict” form submission process. Instead of relying on emails and paper forms, ChronoFlow would automate the approval chain—sending the form to both professors, tracking completion status, and forwarding it to the dean, all in real time. By eliminating unnecessary back-and-forth, reducing processing time and offering transparency throughout the task lifecycle, ChronoFlow promises to improve the quality of life for both students and faculty.
Still, the team is aware that any transition to a new system brings resistance. Their plan is to begin with a single college at CSUN and offer hands-on support—including tutorials, direct contact lines, and walkthroughs—to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
“We’re building something that truly responds to the needs of institutions like CSUN,” says Timothy Tracy.
“Beyond the technical side, we’ve also learned valuable lessons about team dynamics. Building a successful product isn’t just about having a good idea—it’s about having a strong team to bring that idea to life.” says Robert Paronyan. “Our chemistry as a team has been one of our biggest strengths. Everyone knows their role and does it well. Whether it’s coding, outreach, or backend work, we’ve learned to rely on each other, and that’s made us even more confident in our product.” Robert Paronyan
If successful at the university level, ChronoFlow could expand beyond the university setting to serve nonprofits, startups, and large enterprises alike. For now, the team remains focused on refining their minimum viable product, securing their first users and continuing to build a tool that reimagines the way organizations manage work.
