Nazarian College Receives AACSB Accreditation for Business and Accounting

AACSB International announced this week that the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at California State University, Northridge, has earned supplemental accreditation for its accounting program. Nazarian College also extended its business accreditation; both are valid until 2030.

Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools and the largest business education network connecting learners, educators and businesses worldwide. AACSB-accredited schools have successfully undergone a rigorous review process conducted by their peers in the business education community, ensuring that they have the resources, credentials and commitment needed to provide students with a first-rate, future-focused business education.

Today, 1,037 institutions across 65 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business; 194 institutions maintain supplemental AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.

Nazarian College is one of only six business schools in California to earn dual business and accounting accreditation by AACSB. Nazarian College Dean Chandra Subramaniam notes the significance of the dual accreditation for the college.

“This accomplishment not only enhances our reputation as one of the country’s leading business schools but it reflects our never-ending commitment to academic excellence and preparation of future business leaders,” says Subramaniam. “It is a tribute to the dedication of our exceptional faculty and staff and our many supporters who have helped us continue our work to provide the best education for our students.”

Rishma Vedd, chair of the Department of Accounting, says receiving accreditation is an incredibly proud moment for her and the rest of the team in the accounting department.

“While we were confident that we met the highest academic standards in our accounting program, receiving accreditation validates our work and commitment to deliver a competitive education that prepares our students for a successful career in accounting,” says Vedd.
