Faculty attend awards event at Caltech, with connection to CSUN

Drs. Kelson and Fischhaber attended Caltech’s Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards event in Pasadena on October 18. Dr. Deborah D. L. Chung (Caltech BS ’73, MS ’73) was one of four honorees this year. Dr. Chung’s spouse, Dr. Lan K. Wong, is a graduate of CSUN (CSUN BS Chemistry ’73). Drs. Chung and Wong are strong supporters of our Department and its students. They cosponsor the annual Lan K. Wong Undergraduate Research Scholarship, and we now have the “Dr. Lan K. Wong and Deborah D.L. Chung Analytical Instrument Laboratory” which houses many Department instruments. The Caltech event was a great opportunity to connect with them and learn more about Dr. Chung’s exciting career in materials engineering.
