Course Offering: RS 170 Spiritual But Not Religious (SBNR)
This course studies various expressions and practices of Spiritual But Not Religious (SBNR) movements popular in modern Western socie-ties. Topics may include Burning Man and other festivals, yoga, astrology, and neopagansm.
This course looks at what distinguishes these practices from “traditional religions” and why they are practiced by many and viewed as acceptable for many who do not hold a favorable view on religion.
