CSU Introduces the QLT Rubric 4th Edition (2026)

The California State University Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT) Rubric 4th Edition (2026) is ready and available. Check out the revision at https://ocs.calstate.edu/rubrics/qlt

This revised 2026 QLT Rubric 4 Edition includes 51 objectives organized across nine sections and was developed through the collaboration of a 16-member committee representing 14 CSU campuses.

New and updated areas include the priority for accessible and engaging media, Universal Design for Learning, and transparent communication about generative AI. The AI guidance does not require or prohibit the use of AI; instead, it encourages instructors to clearly explain when, where, and how AI tools may be used in the course.
