A force of charisma, warmth, and passion, Dr. Ricks committed his life’s work to amplifying Black voices, deconstructing systemic inequalities, and advancing a more just and inclusive society.
This gathering will honor his unyielding dedication to civic engagement, social justice, and political science education. Dr. Ricks, a true son of South Central Los Angeles, brought light and purpose wherever he went. His vibrant personality shone through his signature bowties and colorful wardrobe, while his relentless commitment to fitness and community service showcased his disciplined, purpose-driven approach to life. Beyond his scholarly achievements, Bo was a friend, mentor, and role model—known for his radiant positivity, genuine kindness, and unwavering pride in his roots.
Please join us as we share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who forever touched the lives of those around him. Let’s come together to celebrate his spirit, lift up his legacy, and carry forward the love and dedication he held for his family, fraternity, friends, and community.
