Radiologic Sciences Students Sweep Student Bowl at CSRT Conference

November 17, 2023

More than 20 Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences (BSRS) students attended the 84th Annual Conference of the California Society of Radiologic Technologists (CSRT) in Riverside in November, 2023.  The conference had about 85 attendees with 40-50 students. Professor Doris Abrishami, Program Director of Radiologic Sciences (Health Sciences) said a highlight of the conference was a Student Bowl competition, played similarly to the game Kahoot. By the last round, the only contestants left were CSUN students. The three top students won prizes of $100, $75, and $50.

“Congratulations to Gina Yun, Desiree Maurino, and Brock Frye, for winning all three prizes at the Student Bowl!” Abrishami said.

The Student Bowl is comprised of three rounds of multiple-choice questions from anatomy, position, and physics related to Radiologic Sciences concepts. With each round, only students with the most correct answers can stay in the competition. There were no other student competitions or presentations in the conference.
