For the HHD holiday celebration this year, the College held a food packing event, supplying food items and filling baskets with a special emphasis on helping people get through the holiday break while campus is closed from December 23 through January 2. The total amount of groceries donated was 970 pounds!

The CSUN Food Pantry is a steady friend to any CSUN students, staff, and faculty who may be experiencing food insecurity or who need basic necessities. The Food Pantry provides for these needs – all at no cost – and connects students to resources beyond food, including a comprehensive network of professionals who can support basic needs, including housing stability, emergency financial support, one-on-one guidance, communities of support, and more. Get details on Resources from CSUN Heart.

Last year, the Department of Health Sciences held a food packing event and it was such a success that this year, Department Chair Bethany Rainisch suggested to Dean Mechelle Best that we go College-wide with the idea. Over 60 staff and faculty brought supplies to the event – and a new HHD Holiday tradition began!
