CSUN RSSA Impact on our Beaches

On April 20th, 2024 CSUN Radiologic Sciences Student Association (RSSA) volunteered to clean up the beach along the Santa Monica coastline through an organization called Heal the Bay. This beach cleanup in particular was a two hour event to recognize Earth Month! To keep marine life free of pollution, volunteers picked up trash, recorded the material, and how much was collected. As a group, CSUN RSSA combed the sand and found a variety of items along the way. Items that were found, but were not limited to included plastic and paper wrappers, plastic lids, bottle caps, straws, bandaids, and small plastic pieces. As members of RSSA collected this trash, each item was tallied up under the appropriate category. The trash was then handed over to Heal the Bay to make sure it was properly disposed of. We are so proud that CSUN RSSA made an impact  on the community and the environment through this event!

Great work, Matadors!
