CSUN HHD Students Honored at President’s Donor Appreciation Celebration

Two outstanding students from the College of Health and Human Development (HHD) were recently featured at the CSUN President’s Donor Appreciation Celebration, held June 5, 2025, at the Skirball Cultural Center.

The annual event celebrates the generosity of donors whose contributions support student success across the university. This year, three student stories were presented through powerful video tributes—two of them from HHD—showcasing how scholarship support changes lives and helps students thrive.

Sanwal Dilshad, a 2025 graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, and Daniella Muriel, who earned her B.S. in Biology in 2023 and is a 2025 graduate of CSUN’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (A-BSN) program, were honored for their academic excellence, perseverance, and service.

Daniella Muriel also spoke at the event, sharing her journey and expressing her gratitude as a recipient of the Roseanna Purzycki Memorial Scholarship. Her moving words resonated with the audience, bringing to life the deep impact of scholarships on student dreams and futures.

“These students represent the heart of CSUN HHD—dedicated, resilient, and driven by a passion to serve others,” said Dean Mechelle Best. “Their stories remind us why scholarship support matters and how donor generosity fuels hope and opportunity.”

We are proud to celebrate Sanwal and Daniella, whose journeys are not only a testament to personal achievement but also a reflection of the value of investing in education. We invite you to be inspired by their stories, which were shared in the video tributes presented at the event.
