Engineering Grads Show Off Their Skills at Senior Design Showcase
College of Engineering and Computer Science held its 14th Annual Senior Design Project Showcase on May 12, featuring diverse student innovations including a sanitizing robot, a concrete canoe, and a food waste reduction app. The Manufacturing Systems Engineering team won the $1,000 grand prize for their “Pure Shredder” project, which processes single-use plastics for recycling. Other notable projects included the C-Shuttle App for real-time campus shuttle tracking, a steel bridge that won first place at a regional symposium, and the Matador Motorsports team’s race car headed for the national Formula SAE competition. Department winners received $500 prizes, with projects evaluated by alumni and industry experts at the University Student Union Northridge Center.
