College of Engineering and Computer Science Staff Tour Upcoming Autodesk Technology Engagement Center
Last Friday, staff from across the College of Engineering and Computer Science had the opportunity to tour the construction site of the upcoming Autodesk Technology Engagement Center (ATEC). Led by Dean Toutanji, ATEC Project Manager Rod Leard, and representatives from Hathaway Dinwiddie, attendees received a comprehensive preview of the cutting-edge facilities that will soon house CSUN’s most advanced research and technology initiatives.
The tour showcased the High Bay Structural Test Lab, alongside the Material Structure and Properties Lab which will be equipped with state-of-the-art testing machines for comprehensive materials testing. These facilities will provide students hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment while supporting advanced research capabilities.
These visitors were also introduced to the area where the Design Digital/Capture/Augmented Reality Lab with its high-end workstations and VR capabilities will be located. Through the tour, they were showcased the Additive Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering Lab, which will offer cutting-edge 3D modeling tools and printing technology to our students.

Completing the tour were the collaborative spaces and overall open areas designed to transform reclusive ideas for specific majors into cross-field experiences and projects.
Staff members expressed enthusiasm about the facility’s impressive design and potential impact on the CSUN community. The College looks forward to the center’s public opening and the new opportunities it will provide for students, faculty, and the community at large.
