Journalism Alumni Association to honor standard-setting Matadors across industries
The Journalism Alumni Association (JAA) is recognizing outstanding alumni through induction into the newly created CSUN Journalism Hall of Fame. Honorees will span the time of typewriters to TikTok – alumni with at least 20 years of experience and “Rising Stars” with 5-10 years of experience. Award categories recognize the impact of CSUN Journalism in a variety of fields.
“The core principles of journalism — truth, accuracy and accountability — drive more than just headlines,” said Bob Rawitch (’67), event chair. “Our alumni have embraced the values of journalism to further the public good across many industries. We’re proud of their accomplishments as fellow Matadors and are honored to help preserve their legacies.”
Nominations are welcome from anyone with insight into a candidate’s career achievements. Self-nominations are allowed. All nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12.
Honorees will be recognized at an awards dinner on Saturday, April 25. Proceeds will benefit the Department of Journalism.
Ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities are available online.
