Shari Tarver Behring Honored at CHIME 35th Anniversary Gala

On November 8th, the CHIME Institute celebrated its 35th anniversary with a gala and honored CSUN College of Education emeritus Dean, Shari Tarver Behring.  We had the opportunity to thank Dr. Tarver Behring for her unwavering support of the CHIME Institute and its mission, and while surrounded by her amazing family, she received a well-deserved Leadership Award.

The CHIME Institute, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization was established in 1990 following a three-year grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education, under the leadership of then faculty in the Department of Special Education at the CSUN College of Education Dr. Claire Cavallaro and the late Dr. Michele Haney.

The CHIME Inclusive model of education has grown not only to serve over 800 children and their families every year but in collaboration with the CSUN College of Education also to teach, inspire and demonstrate a birth-to-8th grade inclusive educational model to countless educators from all over the world.
