Description:
This session will provide a brief overview of the most important practices for controlling bleeding in an emergency before professional responders arrive. You’ll learn the basics of applying pressure to a wound, packing a wound to control bleeding, and correctly applying a tourniquet. Even if you’re squeamish around blood, this session is valuable as you can relay the information to others in a crisis. No fake blood will be used. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn life-saving skills during your lunch break! Presented by Lauren Levitt, Emergency Preparedness Outreach Lead at SFSU & California Emergency Response Corps (CERC) Member at AmeriCorps.
