Dimpal Jain Edits Special Issue on “Critical Race Theory and Community Colleges: Historical Foundations & Contemporary Relevance”
Dimpal Jain, faculty in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, recently co-edited a special issue for the journal New Directions for Community Colleges published in fall of 2025. The issue is entitled: Critical Race Theory and Community Colleges: Historical Foundations & Contemporary Relevance. This issue contains articles that highlights critical race theory’s (CRT) role in addressing systemic educational inequities, informing policy, and advancing critical leadership in this sector of higher education. The issue is edited by scholars deeply invested community colleges and provides research-driven perspectives on how CRT can foster hope, resistance, and intellectual growth during this political climate.
