Beginning Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, students will receive a grade of “W” if requests to drop one or more classes are approved.
The grade of “W” means you were permitted to drop a course after the 20th weekday of fall or spring instruction. You requested and received formal approval to drop. While the “W” is not used to calculate your GPA, it will appear on your permanent record.
Reducing the number of enrolled units may affect your eligibility for campus housing, financial aid, veterans education benefits, international student status and more.
