Hugo Vera and Friends: With Strings Attached

An Evening of Vocal Chamber Music

A CSUN MUSIC Faculty Artist Recital

SUN APRIL 20th, 7:30 PM, Shigemi Matsumoto Recital Hall

“With Strings Attached” is a voice recital celebrating the rich interplay between the human voice and various stringed and keyboard instruments. Featuring works by composers such as Strozzi, Vivaldi, Schubert, Duparc, Holst, and Rodrigo, the program explores the expressive potential of vocal chamber music. The recital highlights both literal strings—from guitar, violin, harpsichord, piano, and string quartet—and the metaphorical ‘vocal cords,’ emphasizing musical collaboration and artistic dialogue.
Joining CSUN Music faculty member and Director of Voice, Hugo Vera, are harpsichordist and pianist, John-Micah Braswell, guitarist Steven Thachuk (CSUN Music Director of Guitar), violinist Nelly Guevara and the newly formed Voices of Orpheus, a tenor & bass ensemble.
