CSUN Cinematheque’s Spring 2025 series “Sacred and Profane: The Surreal Cinema of Luìs Buñuel” presents a free screening of Belle de Jour (1967), a surrealist erotic psychological drama based on the 1928 novel by Joseph Kessel. It stars Catherine Deneuve, who was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as a housewife living a secret life as an upscale prostitute. Cinematheque screenings are held Wednesdays weekly at the Armer Screening Room in Manzanita Hall, and admission is free to all, no RSVP required.
