CJS Book Talk with Dr. Eric Gamino

About this Event

Eric Gamino is an associate professor at California State University, Northridge. Join us in recognizing his accomplishment by celebrating his recent book publication, Enforcing Order on the Border.

The Book:

  • Explores how law-enforcement agencies justify their authority in a region marked by political tension, constant movement, and uncertainty.
  • Highlights the lived experiences of both law enforcement officials and immigrants, showing that enforcement isn’t only about security but also about managing people, space, and belonging.
  • Demonstrates how racialized assumptions, particularly toward Latino immigrants, drive surveillance and control, reinforcing systemic discrimination.

Attend the event for a chance to win a free copy of Dr. Gamino’s Book!
