
This talk and screening will uplift the theory and practice of Jineology, the Kurdish Women’s Liberation movement.
Hamoun Dolatshahi is a Kurdish-Iranian filmmaker and founder/CEO of Zagros Film LLC, a Los Angeles-based studio focused on bold, socially driven storytelling for film and television. Born in Kermanshah, Iran, he came to the U.S. as a refugee in 2010, and his work explores identity, migration, and cultural experience in the diaspora. He holds a BA from UC San Diego and an MFA in Directing and Producing from UCLA. His credits include short films, music videos, and work as a producer and assistant director on numerous projects, including the A24/Netflix series
BEEF. He will be discussing his latest film JIN (2024), which explores Al, language ethics, and Kurdish feminist theory.
