Accessibility for Academic Support Staff

These trainings are only available to CSUN employees. You are required to login with your CSUN credentials in order to access Microsoft Bookings form). If you encounter any issues while completing the training registration form, please contact udc@csun.edu.

To register via Microsoft Bookings, go to the date of the workshop and select the time in the Bookings calendar, fill in your information, then scroll down to select the red Book button.

Description: The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has been updated with new requirements for course materials. These changes take effect April 24, 2026.

This workshop for staff in academic departments will help you help your faculty prepare. We’ll cover:

  • Summary of the ADA changes
  • S.M.A.R.T. accessibility goals for faculty
  • How do you even know if a course file needs attention?
  • University support and resources for faculty
  • Cidi Labs in Canvas
  • And more tools
  • Universal Design Center (UDC) and Academic Technology
  • Training workshops
  • Consultations
  • Additional support
  • With time for questions

Note: This workshop will not cover how to fix course materials. UDC’s Fall semester training series for all faculty, staff, and student employees presents the “how-to” for various popular content creation tools.

UDC also offers custom department workshops! To arrange a workshop for your department, email UDC.
