Please join us in welcoming Dr. Abby Saavedra (She/Her)

Dr. Abby Saavedra is an incoming Assistant Professor of Developmental Psychology. Dr. Saavedra research focuses on the racialized and politicized processes and contexts that support positive development and well being for Asian Americans and youth of color.

Her work as a psychologist is deeply rooted in her identity as a Filipina American daughter of immigrants and in her community organizing experiences with Filipinx Americans and students of color in California and Arizona. Prior to joining CSUN, Dr. Saavedra earned her Ph.D. from Arizona State University and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
