New Course Offering: Public Policy in Chicanx Communities CHS 367
Critical analysis of how public policy is shaped and applied in Chicanx communities in areas such as housing, education, environment, health, informal economy, and policing. Students will evaluate and analyze scholarly debates around public policy using interdisciplinary frameworks from Chicana/o Studies, public policy studies, and comparative race and ethnic studies. Students will collaborate with community organizations to create new or refine existing public policy to address a significant social justice issue in Chicanx communities.
