Nazarian College Leads in Accounting Excellence: 26 Alumni Among LA’s Top 100

The David Nazarian College of Business and Economics further distinguished itself as a regional and national leader in accounting education with 26 alumni named among the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2025 Top 100 Accountants.

The college’s 26 honorees—recognized at a Nov. 6 ceremony at the Biltmore Los Angeles—represent the largest group from any single organization.

The annual Top 100 Accountants awards recognize leading accountants for their expertise, professional achievements and contributions to the Los Angeles business community.

Having more than a quarter of this year’s honorees come from Nazarian College signals the depth of the college’s talent pipeline and long-term impact of its AACSB-accredited curriculum, faculty expertise and experiential learning commitment, says Dean Chandra Subramaniam.

“We’re proud to see so many of our alumni acknowledged for their impact in the field of accounting,” says Subramaniam. “Their achievements reflect not only their hard work but the strength of our academic program and the pivotal role our faculty have in preparing students for successful accounting careers.”

Subramaniam notes that this strong showing also indicates the power of hands-on learning, a cornerstone of Nazarian College where students are encouraged to put their classroom learning into practice through internships, competitions, small business consulting and volunteering.

“More than 70 percent of our accounting students volunteer to work in either our VITA Clinic or our Lower Income Tax Clinic,” says Subramaniam. “These students are in high demand following graduation and go on to very successful careers.”

This impact is reflected not only in this year’s LABJ awards, but also in the fact that one in four or 27 percent of managing partners at Los Angeles’ top 100 public accounting firms are Nazarian College graduates.
