Many faculty are looking away from federal funding to alternate sources like foundation money. Our panelists will talk about the different kinds of philanthropic funding and what motivates their funding decisions. Discussion will focus on how to communicate your research objectives in a way that connects to the funder’s mission and showcases the impact they can achieve by partnering with you. Participants will be provided with a template for the information and impacts that philanthropic funders are looking for. While the focus is on philanthropy, the topics in this session are applicable to any kind of funding including federal funding and how to provide context to the reviewer.
Each session will be introduced and moderated by Alby Luchko, Contracts, Grants & Research Development Officer for CSBS. Everyone is welcome including students and staff!

This four-part series aims to provide researchers with resources to continue fund-seeking after a season of changes and uncertainty. We want to consider making strategic choices and reframing our research narratives to appeal to our funding opportunities. Throughout the series, you’ll not only learn tips and templates, but also how to leverage college and campus resources to support your work.
All sessions take place in the Whitsett Room (SH451) on Thursdays at 3:30 pm.
