Summer Term 2026 Begins

Tuesday, May 26, 2026, is the first day of Summer Sessions 1 and 2 classes. Summer Session 3 classes begin July 8, 2026. To check the times and locations of your classes, log in to the CSUN Portal and select the top “Academics” tab.

Summer Session 1 (12 weeks) and Session 2 (first 6 weeks):

• Classes begin for Sessions 1 and 2 on Tuesday, May 26.
• Session 1 classes end Aug. 18. Session 2 classes end July 7.
• The last day to drop a class online for both sessions is Friday, June 5.

New! Waitlist and Permission Number Updates:

Summer term is now more like fall and spring semesters. Please note these changes. The dates below pertain to Summer Sessions 1 and 2:

• Wait-listing ends Sunday, May 31, 11:59 p.m.
• Beginning June 1, you may add classes online with a permission number from the instructor or department.
• The last day to add with permission is:
  —Session 2: June 19
  —Session 1: July 31

Final exams in summer are scheduled for the last class meeting. Please check with your professor.

Summer Session 3 (second 6 weeks):

• Nonrestrictive Registration continues online through July 7, 2026.
• Classes begin July 8 and end Aug. 18.
