
This panel will describe the process of setting up a private practice in psychology including career transitions, building and marketing a practice, legal standards, ethical principles, and how to navigate the health care system and billing.

Panelists will:
1. Share about their transition from the workforce to setting up a professional private practice in psychology;
2. Describe the nature of their practice, mission, niche, and services;
3. Identify ethical issues concerning building and marketing their practice;
4. Discuss how to navigate the health care system (e.g., billing, payers, liability insurance, confidentiality, telepsychology, etc.);
5. Explain the HIPAA/EHR compliance and practice management;
6. Discuss the legal and ethical issues for solo practice.
