PIANO SPHERES: is a 30 year-old nonprofit organization that supports the composition, performance, and production of major new works for the piano as well as rarely heard treasures from centuries past. They expand the piano repertoire by commissioning new music and sustaining several concert series of the highest artistic quality which focus primarily on music by living American composers. Their Leonard Stein Artist Residency is a performance and teaching program dedicated to locating, supporting and presenting pianists from historically underrepresented groups who specialize in the performance of new music. This program is presented in cooperation with the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
