Heightened Scrutiny Film Screening
March 26 at 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Queer Studies Presents a screening of Sam Feder’s 2025 documentary Heightened Scrutiny and a talkback with Sam led by Sid Hansen and Guillermo Rodriguez in the Armer Theater in Manzanita Hall on March 26th from 4-6:30pm. Mocktails and appetizers will be served in the breezeway outside of Manzanita Hall during the event.
Heightened Scrutiny follows lawyer Chase Strangio as he prepares to argue against the Tennessee ban on gender affirming health care for trans youth at the Supreme Court in December 2024. It offers a close look at how the media distorts narratives about gender affirming health care for trans people, and the direct effect that has on legal rulings about trans kids.
