Fourth Week of Classes, Fall 2026

Monday, Sept. 14, 2026 marks the start of the fourth week of classes. A lot happens this week!

• Last Friday, Sept. 11, was the last day to drop or swap classes online for all students.
• Sunday, Sept. 20: Your schedule is considered official by the end of Week 4.
• Monday, Sept. 21: Twentieth day of instruction. A grade of “W” (authorized withdrawal) will appear on your record if requests to drop/withdraw are approved after this date.
• Friday, Nov. 13: If necessary, you may continue to add a class online with a permission number from the instructor through Nov. 13.

Dropping Classes in Week 4

During Week 4 (after Sept. 11), approval is required to drop or swap classes (or change the grading basis for undergraduate students). Follow these Week 4 procedures:

• Undergraduate and Second Bachelor’s Students: After Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 20, you must request approval to drop (withdraw), swap or change the basis of grading using the 4th Week Change of Schedule Petition for Undergraduate Students Web Form. Use a different from for Weeks 5 and beyond. See Fifth Week of Classes, Fall 2026
• Graduate Students (Master’s, Doctorate, Credential and Certificate): After Sept. 11 through the end of the semester and beyond, you must request approval to withdraw, including medical withdrawals, using the “Late Change in Academic Schedule” form at Graduate Evaluations: Forms.

Precautions for Reducing Units

It is the your responsibility as a student to withdraw from classes. Reducing the number of enrolled units can impact your eligibility for financial aid, campus housing, international student status and more. Important Fee Payment Information:

• If you drop all classes (completely withdraw) before the 60% point of instruction, you might be eligible for a prorated refund.
• If you add classes at any time, you may owe additional tuition and other fees. Be sure to check your student account balance in the CSUN Portal each time you adjust your schedule.
