Join the La Raza Alumni Association Scholarship Dinner as we celebrate outstanding CSUN students and honor the cultural roots, family sacrifices, and community strength that uplift their journeys. Together, we cultivate dreams, celebrate perseverance, and empower the next generations of leaders.

Experience an unforgettable evening hosted by one of our very own CSUN alumni— distinguished Univision reporter and beloved community voice Julio César Ortiz ’00, serving as our Master of Ceremonies.

Julio César Ortiz is an accomplished CSUN alumnus, award-winning Univision journalist, and dedicated advocate for the Spanish-speaking community. As a CSUN student, he founded the California State University system’s first 30-minute Spanish-language newscast and has since earned 23 Emmy Awards for his impactful reporting on immigration, mental health, and social justice. Drawing from his experience as a formerly undocumented student, Ortiz established the Ortiz Mind and Heart Scholarship Endowment to support high-achieving CSUN students committed to uplifting immigrant communities.
