DESCRIPTION:CSUN University Library invites you to participate in this year’s celebration of Día de Muertos. For more information about the history and significance about Día de Muertos\, please check out the resources and links below. \nDuring Día de Muertos\, all CSUN Library members are welcome to contribute to our community altar in the lobby. We encourage you to reflect\, celebrate\, and honor the lives of those who have passed on by leaving a photo\, adding a personal ofrenda (offering)\, or even writing the names of those you wish remember for the altar. \nVolunteer to work on the altar\nCSUN students and community members are welcome to participate in this transformative community work of creating an altar! \nBuilding the altar is a multi-day process. Major work in on the altar is planned to take place on: \n\nWednesday 10/21 from 10am to 1pm\nThursday 10/22 from 1pm to 4pm\n\nDates and times are subject to change last minute\, and some days may be added. Join our efforts in the Library lobby. \nIf you have questions about volunteering\, please email brianna.limas@csun.edu \nCelebrate Día de Muertos\nIn addition to celebrating with the Library\, we encourage you to participate in Día de Muertos celebrations throughout CSUN and the San Fernando Valley. \n\nCSUN Chicane House (Instagram): workshops and events\nCSUN AS Students Día de los Muertos: October 28th\nCanoga Park Día de los Muertos\nTia Chucha’s Centro Cultural & Bookstore: workshops and events (see website\, Instagram\, and/or linktree for registration details)\nMultiple Día de los Muertos events and activities at the Los Angeles Public Library (various branches)\nCommunity Altar & Cartonería Workshops at CSUN Art Galleries\n\nAssistive Services\nRequests for accommodation services (e.g. sign language interpreters or transcribers) must be made at least five (5) business days in advance.
