DESCRIPTION:California State University\, Northridge (CSUN) welcomed a delegation from Hohai University (HHU) Business School on April 9\, 2026\, for a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening international academic collaboration. The HHU delegation was led by Dean Dr. Changzheng Zhang and included Dr. Haiwei Zhou\, Dr. Yang Zhang\, and Ms. Dexia Zang\, Director of the Office of Accreditation and International Exchange. Both institutions presented their academic strengths\, with CSUN highlighting its AACSB-recognized innovation in business education and HHU emphasizing its leadership in water resource management and sustainability. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDiscussions focused on expanding student exchange opportunities and developing joint academic initiatives\, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI)\, supply chain management\, and business analytics. HHU proposed short-term MBA study abroad programs in Southern California\, undergraduate exchange opportunities\, and interdisciplinary “micro-specialty” or micro-certificate programs. CSUN introduced its specialized centers\, research initiatives\, and new online MBA program\, emphasizing faculty engagement in developing innovative\, industry-aligned curricula. Both sides identified potential collaboration areas including credit recognition\, a “Semester at CSUN” program for HHU students\, joint or reciprocal micro-certificate offerings\, and sustainability-focused coursework integrating AI applications. \nThe meeting also outlined concrete next steps\, such as promoting CSUN graduate programs—including the MS in Business Analytics and MS in Cybersecurity and AI Governance—to HHU students\, and initiating mutual course review processes. Additional plans include exploring HHU’s Education Development Program for implementation as early as Fall 2026\, collaborating on HHU’s summer global courses\, and leveraging industry connections in Los Angeles and Jiangsu Province. The session concluded with a shared commitment to ongoing communication and phased implementation of collaborative initiatives\, reflecting strong alignment between the two institutions’ academic and global engagement goals.
