SUMMARY:CSUN Cinematheque: On Dangerous Ground—The Films of Ida Lupino
DESCRIPTION:The Spring 2026 Cinematheque presents a series of films by British-American actress\, director\, and producer Ida Lupino. \nLupino was crowned the “First Lady of Noir”—the first woman to direct in the noir genre and the only woman director of the Post-War era. She was a bona fide movie star—beautiful\, talented\, dazzling. Lupino wrote and directed films with subjects so taboo the Hollywood studios wouldn’t touch them\, considered “beyond the pale” by viewers who experienced them at their time of initial release.  Traverse the dark corridors of real life with this season’s Cinematheque noir series… \nON DANGEROUS GROUND\, The Films of Ida Lupino Behind the Camera.

SUMMARY:Teaching in the Age of AI: Designing Learning That Builds Critical Thinking - Part I
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Dr. Deniz Marti \nDescription: Part I introduces the pedagogical foundations for teaching in an AI-rich learning environment. Participants will explore how students are currently using AI tools and why attempts to ban AI often fail. The session will also examine the concept of cognitive erosion and discuss how poorly designed assignments can unintentionally encourage\nstudents to outsource thinking. \nParticipants will learn practical principles for AI-integrated pedagogy\, including how to design assignments that require reasoning\, critique\, and reflection rather than simply asking students to produce outputs. \nWhat you’ll leave this workshop with:\n• Principles of AI-integrated pedagogy\n• Practical ways to integrate AI into active learning\n• Ideas for using AI to support critical thinking and metacognition \n\nJoin the event on Zoom\n*You will need to be signed into Zoom with your csun.edu or my.csun.edu email address to join. \n**If you are signed into the Zoom app with a different account\, log out of Zoom\, and select the Single Sign-On (SSO) button near the bottom. If Zoom asks for a domain enter csun\, and you will be guided to CSUN’s SSO page. \n
