Supported by Dean Searcy and led by Dr. Ellie Kazemi (Department of Psychology)\, this series creates an open space for thoughtful\, critical conversation about how these technologies are shaping our classrooms\, disciplines\, and daily work. \nPurpose\nOur College is creating space for open dialogue about pressing concerns such as academic integrity\, erosion of learning\, bias\, labor\, sustainability\, and the preservation of academic values—alongside honest discussion about how AI is already influencing our professional and personal lives. Faculty and staff bring diverse perspectives\, from active integration to intentional limits. The goal is not consensus\, but shared understanding and meaningful exchange grounded in our shared academic values. \nWhy Consider Attending?\nNew tools\, headlines\, and workshops about AI seem to emerge daily. The rapid pace of change in the corporate world is spilling into higher education\, and many of us are being asked to respond quickly—sometimes without adequate space to think. \nThis gathering offers an opportunity to pause and reflect. To make sense of what’s happening alongside colleagues who may share your excitement\, your hesitation\, or both. This one-hour workshop will provide you with techniques for proofing your assignment before you hand it in. \nThis workshop will: \n\nClarify the difference between proofreading and revision\nExplain the importance of carefully and critically re-reading your work\nIntroduce you to proofreading tools and tricks that allow you to find and fix your errors\n\nHow to sign up:\n\nLog in to EAB.\nSelect the blue “Schedule appointment or view drop-in availability” button on the top right.\nOn the next screen\, select “Learning Resource Center (LRC)” from the first drop-down menu.\nUnder “Reason for your appointment\,” select the desired workshop. You must sign up more than one hour prior to the start of the workshop. \nYou may input your desired date.
