SUMMARY:AI Playtime: Get Curious\, Experiment\, and Build Confidence | CSU CCC
DESCRIPTION:Location: Online via Zoom; Connection details provided upon registration\n\nDescription:\n\n\nArtificial Intelligence is evolving quickly\, and figuring out where—or whether—to begin can feel overwhelming. This beginner-to-intermediate workshop takes a practical\, human-centered approach to AI\, with ChatGPT as the primary tool and examples from other AI platforms. Through demonstrations\, discussion\, and hands-on exploration\, participants will discover ways AI can support everyday work\, creativity\, career development\, and personal well-being—from drafting and brainstorming to working with documents\, data\, images\, and other content.\n\nRather than trying to keep up with every new AI tool or feature\, participants will learn strategies for starting small\, experimenting safely\, improving results through prompting and context\, and developing their own judgment about when AI is—and isn’t—the right tool. The session will also explore the human side of AI adoption\, including common hesitations\, the importance of making space for experimentation\, and balancing the efficiencies of AI with opportunities to exercise our own creativity\, critical thinking\, and skills. Participants will leave with practical ideas they can adapt to their own roles and greater confidence to continue learning as AI evolves.\n\n\nRegistration:\nCSUN Faculty & Staff – To register for this Workshop/Session: \n\nWhen ready\, select the CSU Learn button below.\nLog into CSU Learn with your CSUN Portal credentials.\nSelect the “Register” button.\nClick on the bullet next to the CSUN HR icon\, and select “Submit” to enroll in this session.\n\nCSU Learn\n \nWithdraw from Session: If you need to cancel your registration\, select the “Self” icon in CSU Learn.  Select “Learning\,” then “Registrations.”  Select the box next to the session you need to cancel\, and select “Cancel Registration.”  In the next window\, select “Confirm Cancellation.”

Join us for an afternoon of art\, snacks\, and community! The Papel Picado Workshop is open to all CSUN community members and will be held in the Library in the Jack & Florence Ferman Presentation Room. Pre-registration is appreciated\, but not required.\n \n\n About our Facilitator\n\n\n Candy Angel-Diaz is a Mexican native who has spent the last 40 years residing in California. Deeply rooted in the traditions of Día de los Muertos and Ofrenda/Altar creation\, she brings over four decades of experience in expressive art and ceremonial practices\, all enriched by her Mexican heritage\, academic research & teachings from Indigenous elders. She has cultivated a sacred practice that embraces diversity and inclusivity.\n \n\n Identifying as a Chicana/Latinx Artivist and Altarista\, she honors the memory of resistance through community sacred healing practices drawn from ancient traditions and ancestral connections. She is a dedicated advocate for social justice; through art healing and by empowering community organizing aimed at fostering equity and preserving cultural heritage. In her community work\, she seeks to raise awareness and inspire transformation\, enhancing sacred spaces and cultural programs that promote creativity\, education\, and social change.\n \n\n Her guidance to participants in the art of Ofrenda/Altar making is a process that invites an internal and creative exploration of one’s connection to their lineage\, the interplay of life and death\, and the rich tapestry of memories. Participants in her workshops are encouraged to delve into artistic concepts\, symbols\, and metaphors\, enriching their relationship with their creations in honor and remembrance.\n \n\n Instructions and Resources for Making Papel Picado\n\n\n In addition to the hands-on introduction provided at our workshop\, explore these tutorials and guides for practicing the craft of papel picado and try out different techniques and approaches.\n \n\n\n How to Make Papel Picado with Mario A.
