DESCRIPTION:ChamberMusic@CSUN\nAndrew McIntosh and Friends\n“Night\, Fantasy\, and Ghost”\nSaturday October 31\, 2026 at 3:00 pm \nShigemi Matsumoto Recital Hall in Cypress Hall\, $10 – $22 \n\nAndrew McIntosh\, Eva Lymenstull\, and Steven Vanhauwaert present a program of fantastical and dreamy early Romantic-era piano trios on period instruments\, with an original 1825 Broadwood fortepiano\, an instrument similar to the Broadwood owned and cherished by Beethoven. Starting with Beethoven’s “Ghost” trio\, the program will include Robert Schumann’s Phantasiestücke\, Op. 88\, Schubert’s Nocturne in Eb\, and Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in Dm.\n\nAndrew McIntosh (violin/viola faculty at CalArts and concertmaster of Tesserae) returns to the CSUN Chamber Series after performing the complete Rosary Sonatas of Biber on the series two years ago\, joined by Steven Vanhauwaert (piano faculty at University of Utah)\, with whom he released the first period instrument recording of the violin sonatas of Joseph Boulogne\, and Eva Lymenstull (cellist with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and baroque cello faculty at University of Michigan).
