SUMMARY:Guest Artist Recital: Hui Wu\, piano
DESCRIPTION:Guest Artist: Hui Wu\, piano\nFriday October 30th 2026\, 7:30 PM\, Shigemi Matsumoto Recital Hall \n \n  \nProgram Notes \nThis program juxtaposes two cornerstones of the étude repertoire: the 12 Études from Frédéric Chopin’s Op. 25 and the 10 Études of Philip Glass (Book I). By pairing these cycles\, the recital explores the “étude” as both a technical laboratory and a high-art form\, tracing a line from Chopin’s 19th-century chromaticism to Glass’s 21st-century minimalism — the meditative austerity of Glass set against the multi-faceted emotional world of Chopin. \nDr. Hui Wu\, praised by The New York Times for her “sparkling” artistry\, is a world-class classical pianist whose performances shatter expectations\, transforming each concert into an immersive\, multidimensional journey that reimagines timeless classical music for the present moment. \nhttps://www.huiwupianist.com/ \n  \nParking via Kiosks in Lot B1 \nTICKETS: $10 to $22 (plus a $2 fee per ticket)
