DESCRIPTION:Jory Herman\, double bass\nMarina Pacowski\, piano\nSeptember 19 at 7:30 pm Shigemi Matsumoto Recital Hall\, $10 – $22 \n  \nJory Herman\, double bassist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and CSUN music faculty\, released a groundbreaking solo album in July 2024 titled Argonautical which features 5 works by female composers (including 2 world premiere commissions and 2 new arrangements).    The name Argonautical draws from the album’s standout world-premiere commissioned work Argonauta by Jordan Jinosko. Herman brings his double bass mastery to this album\, offering a rich\, resonant sound that “you’ll never think of the bass the same way again.” – The San Diego Union Tribune.
