DESCRIPTION:Join the CSUN Alumni Attorney Networking Group’s February meeting via Zoom and connect with fellow Matador attorneys. We will feature Allison A. Muller\, Pharm.D\, D.ABAT\, FAACT\, AFACMT\,  Principal/Owner: Acri Muller Consulting\, LLC\, and learn about “The Devil is in the Details: Expert Witness Tips for Attorneys.” \nDate: February 5\nTime: 5:00 p.m.\nCost: Free\nVIA ZOOM\n*Zoom link will be forwarded after registration. \nREGISTER for this event \nDuring this one-hour presentation\, Dr. Muller will provide attorneys with insight on effectively choosing\, engaging with\, and preparing expert witnesses for testimony to optimize their role in litigation. Attorneys will learn practical strategies for building relationships with expert witnesses\, including effective communication and collaboration techniques. Additionally\, Dr. Muller will provide tips on addressing common pitfalls when working with experts and ensuring that experts deliver compelling presentations at deposition and trial. By offering a non-attorney perspective on the expert witness experience\, this program aims to equip attorneys with tips and insight to enhance their litigation strategies. \nLearning Objectives: \n\n\nState 3 qualities of an expert witness to consider beyond education and experience.\n\n\nDevelop a brief series of questions to evaluate potential experts during the introductory discussion.\n\n\nIdentify best practices for preparing expert witnesses for testimony.\n\nCompile a comprehensive expert witness preparation checklist outlining critical components.\n\n \nAllison A. Muller\, Pharm.D\, D.ABAT\, FAACT\, AFACMT\nPrincipal/Owner: Acri Muller Consulting\, LLC\n4920 Pennell Road\, #311\nAston\, PA 19014\n215-593-5805 \nallison@acrimullerconsulting.com \nDr. Muller is a board-certified toxicologist\, a fellow of both the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology and the American College of Medical Toxicology\, with over 30 years of experience in the field of clinical toxicology. \nThe majority of her 20-plus year career in toxicology was with The Poison Control Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia\, where she was consulted on the care of poisoned patients within 21 counties in Pennsylvania and all of Delaware. \nDr. Muller is presently an independent consultant with experience as an expert witness in cases involving alcohol\, drugs of abuse\, carbon monoxide\, medication errors\, and postmortem toxicology. \nShe sees her role of an expert witness as that of a teacher. To that end\, she is also on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine\, where she teaches toxicology to second-year veterinary medicine students.
