DESCRIPTION:In celebration of Toy Story’s 30th anniversary and the power of community\, we invite all departments and colleges to take part in the Toy Story Toy Drive\, hosted by Homegrown Alumni and The Soraya\, in partnership with Student Housing and Bridge To The Future. Your support will directly benefit CSUN students living in family housing. \nEach new\, unwrapped toy donated by your department and college earns you an entry into a raffle for four tickets to an upcoming holiday performance at The Soraya. The greater the number of toys donated\, the higher your chances! The lucky department/college can then raffle off the tickets to faculty or staff within their team. \nWe invite you to include a short\, optional note of encouragement or support from your department or college with your donation. These notes will be shared with the students to remind everyone that we are one big CSUN family. Also\, an introduction to text to speech or screen reader technology and how screen readers are essential to allow users who are blind or visually impaired to access information. \nLearning Objectives: \n \n\nLearn about testing tools and software\nReceive a tutorial on common testing applications and programs\nLearn how to apply test results to your webpage and find more resources to fix.\nA brief overview of automated testing tools\nUnderstand what a screen reader is and who uses it.\nComprehend how accessibility is essential to ensure screen reader users have access to information.\n\nRecommended Attendees: Web Developers\, Information Technology Specialist\,  Web Content Creators\, Instructional Designers\, Instructional Support\, Business Analyst\, Staff\, Faculty\, Executives\, Financial Personnel\, Marketing Specialist\, Admin Support\, and Graphic Designers. \nLocation: Virtual event \nNote: The accessibility training is for CSUN faculty\, staff\, student employees\, and alumni. \nAccommodations: If you require accommodations\, please contact udc@csun.edu. \nPlease note that a minimum of 10 attendees is required for UDC to conduct the training event.

DESCRIPTION:Join the University Student Union and the Department of Chicana/o Studies as we host world-renowned Queer Chicana artist Alma López in a part lecture\, part hands-on workshop exploring the genealogy of her work that has reclaimed the traditional Catholic image of the Virgén de Guadalupe. Make your voice heard as you create your own decolonial art\, bridging Latinx Heritage Month\, LGBTQIA2S+ History Month and Día de la Raza (a decolonial commemoration of indigenous resistance celebrated on Sunday\, Oct. 12).  \nDon’t miss this chance to contribute to a legacy of activism\, education\, and community!  \nDo you require interpreting services?
