DESCRIPTION:CSUN Cinematheque’s Spring 2025 series “Sacred and Profane: The Surreal Cinema of Luìs Buñuel” presents a free screening of Belle de Jour (1967)\, a  surrealist erotic psychological drama based on the 1928 novel by Joseph Kessel. It stars Catherine Deneuve\, who was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as a housewife living a secret life as an upscale prostitute. Cinematheque screenings are held Wednesdays weekly at the Armer Screening Room in Manzanita Hall\, and admission is free to all\, no RSVP required.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for Kinesis\, Emerging Choreography featuring choreography from our undergraduate students! Our students work closely with faculty and invited professionals to put on an amazing show that you do not want to miss! The annual spring dance concert also provides rich opportunities to integrate the art and science of human movement\, in fact\, psychological data will be gathered during the performances. \nKinesis will take place on Wednesday\, April 23rd at 7:30 pm and Thursday\, April 24th at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm in the Plaza Del Sol Performance Hall (located on the east side of the campus off Zelzah Street by the Student Union). This reading will provide students with an opportunity to engage with the richness of Trinidad’s various reclamations as well as reconnecting them with one of the literary lineages of CSUN’s Department of English. The center was founded by Kimberly Durdin and Allegra Hill in response to the black maternity health crisis effecting black birthing people in this country.
