SUMMARY:March | Three-Step PDF Accessibility for Faculty
DESCRIPTION:Description:  CSUN has a new pair of software tools that will improve the accessibility of many PDFs: the CSU PDF Accessibility Remediation tool and the Canvas Course Accessibility Report. We’ll start with a quick introduction to accessibility for PDFs\, make sure you are comfortable using both tools\, and demonstrate the important role you play (step 2). We’ll conclude by reviewing campus resources for additional support with PDFs. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nUnderstand what makes a PDF “accessible” and how to check.\nLearn how to use the two key software tools.\nFamiliarity with the limitations of this method and where expert human review and adjustments may be needed.\nKnow where to get support with the two tools and with PDFs that need additional work.\n\nRecommended Attendees: Faculty\, Academic Support Staff. \nLocation: Virtual event \n\nThese trainings are only available to CSUN employees. You are required to login with your CSUN credentials in order to access Microsoft Bookings form). SUMMARY:Heightened Scrutiny Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Queer Studies Presents a screening of Sam Feder’s 2025 documentary Heightened Scrutiny and a talkback with Sam led by Sid Hansen and Guillermo Rodriguez in the Armer Theater in Manzanita Hall on March 26th from 4-6:30pm. Mocktails and appetizers will be served in the breezeway outside of Manzanita Hall during the event. \nHeightened Scrutiny follows lawyer Chase Strangio as he prepares to argue against the Tennessee ban on gender affirming health care for trans youth at the Supreme Court in December 2024.
