SUMMARY:A Stitch & Glitch in Time
DESCRIPTION:January 20 – March 12\, 2026\nReception: Thursday\, January 29 from 5:00 – 7:30pm\n \nA Stitch & Glitch in Time brings together thirteen Los Angeles-based artists who use textiles to explore technology\, fashion\, and collective histories. Los Angeles has a long history in textile production\, both for industrial use and artistic expression. The processes and materials utilized by these artists embody this long and complex history – highlighting how textiles can simultaneously be highly personal objects while revealing the larger economic and social circumstances they were created within. \n  \nExhibition Artists: Fafnir Adamites\, Ekta Aggarwal\, Diane Briones Williams\, Lavialle Campbell\, Mimi Haddon\, Lorenzo Hurtado Segovia\, Ahree Lee\, Aubrey Longley-Cook\, Kayla Mattes\, Minga Opazo\, Aneesa Shami Zizzo\, Irene Georgia Tsatsos\, and Jenny Yurshansky. \n  \nThis exhibition was curated by Holly Jerger\, CSUN Art Galleries Director. The exhibition is made possible through the generous support of the Mike Curb College of Arts\, Media\, and Communication and Louise Lewis. Additional support provided by the Instructionally Related Activities Committee and Arts Council for CSUN. \n  \nThis exhibition is part of Handwork 2026\, Craft in America’s nationwide semiquincentennial collaboration showcasing the importance of the handmade and celebrating the diversity of craft that defines America. \n  \nFree Admission

SUMMARY:Beyond The Self Portrait Show
DESCRIPTION:Visit the “Beyond The Self Portrait” Show led by CSUN Photo Society and CSUN Printmaking Society in the Manzanita Gallery.\nThis exhibit will be open to visit until March 12\, 2026.\nEach person is shaped by the people they love\, the places they call home\, and the experiences that leave their mark. Oftentimes\, a self portrait captures only the physical appearance of a person\, leaving out the years of life they have lived and the stories that define them. As a collaborative project between the CSUN Photo Society and the CSUN Printmaking Society\, Beyond the Self Portrait began as an exploration of what a self portrait can truly become. \nWe invited our members to share work that reveals a piece of their life\, offering the campus community a chance to connect with the person behind the art. We encouraged them to move beyond the traditional constraints of a self portrait and look deeper into the often unseen aspects of their inner identity. By bringing together different practices and mediums\, this exhibition shows that a self portrait can move beyond appearance and become a reflection of memory\, experience\, and identity. \n  \n

Praised for his “extremely colourful interpretations\, characterized by maturity and authority” (Pizzicato Magazine)\, he has made several Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center appearances\, and has performed in Europe\, the Middle East\, and across North America. She is also an active performer on the baroque bassoon and contrabassoon\, and the co-founder and director of Oak Hill Music Festival\, a chamber music festival serving the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont. Dyad\, her duo with violinist Niv Ashkenazi\, has performed on concert series throughout California and at many venues on the East Coast\, including a recent performance at the Kennedy Center. \nAs well as freelance and studio work in Los Angeles\, Leah has performed at the Lake George Music Festival\, as a fellow at the Norfolk Music Festival\, at several programs at the Banff Centre\, and at Fresh Inc. Festival with Fifth House Ensemble. \nAs an educator\, she is on faculty at California State University\, Northridge\, and maintains a private teaching studio in Los Angeles\, as well as coaching for several local youth orchestras. \nShe received her D.M.A. from the University of Southern California as a student of Judith Farmer\, with an academic field in musicology and elective fields in Arts Leadership and early music. She holds an M.M. from The Juilliard School and a B.M. from the Manhattan School of Music\, both as a student of Frank Morelli. \nLEARN MORE about DYAD and LEAH KOHN \nSuggested Parking via Kiosks in Lot B1 \nTICKETS: $10 to $22 \nCan’t attend in Person?
